Privacy Policy

1. Who we are
This site belongs to CompuSigns LLC, a sign design, fabrication and installation company with its shop at Calle Cervantes AA-80, Esquina Boulevard, Levittown, Toa Baja, PR 00949. You can write to us at compusignsinc@gmail.com or call (787) 550-7868 about anything concerning your data.
This policy explains what information we collect when you use this site, what we use it for, and what you can ask us about it.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal data when you give it to us through one of the two forms on the site. There is no other collection point.
- Quote builder: name, phone, email, the type of sign and its dimensions, where it will be installed, the design stage, your comments, and — if you upload one — a photo or PDF of the storefront or installation area.
- Contact form: name, email, phone (optional), the type of inquiry and your message.
- Alongside each request we also automatically store the date and time, your IP address and the language you were browsing in. The IP lets us throttle automated bulk submissions; the language lets us reply in the one you were using.
3. What we use it for
We use your data solely to handle your request: to prepare the estimate you asked for, answer your inquiry and, if the work goes ahead, coordinate the project with you.
- We do not send you advertising or newsletters by email. There is no mailing list. If you see our ads on Facebook or Instagram, that comes from the Meta measurement explained below.
- We do not sell, rent or hand your data to anyone.
- We do not profile you or make automated decisions about you using the data from your forms.
4. How long we keep it
We keep requests for 24 months from the last contact, because a customer who asked for a quote often comes back months later and the history lets us pick the project up without starting over. After that they are deleted.
If the project is contracted, the data needed for invoicing and warranty is kept for as long as applicable tax and accounting rules require.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner by writing to compusignsinc@gmail.com.
5. Who else sees it
Your data is seen by the CompuSigns staff handling your request. Beyond that, only the providers needed to run the site, to understand how it is used and to measure our advertising are involved:
- Our web hosting and email provider, which stores the data and carries the notifications your submissions generate.
- The site's typefaces are served from our own server, not from Google.
- Google Analytics, on every page, from your first visit: see the "Analytics" section below.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram), on every page, from your first visit, through the Meta Pixel: see the "Advertising and Meta Pixel" section below.
- Google Maps, and only if you ask for it. The map in the Contact section is a static image: until you press "Open interactive map" no request beyond the one Analytics already makes is sent to Google. From that click on, the map's own terms also apply.
- The WhatsApp, Facebook, Waze and Apple Maps links are ordinary links: they load nothing until you click them, and clicking takes you off our site.
6. Cookies and browser storage
The site uses Google Analytics to measure visits, which places a small set of Google's own cookies in your browser (named things like "_ga" and "_ga_…"). These identify your browser from one visit to the next without identifying you by name.
The Meta Pixel places a cookie of Meta's own in your browser (named something like "_fbp"), used to recognise your browser between visits and measure our ads. You can block or delete these cookies in your browser settings without the site breaking — we would simply stop counting you in the statistics and in ad measurement.
The only thing we store ourselves, in our own code, is your light or dark theme preference, using local storage. It is a technical value, identifies nobody and never leaves your device.
The internal admin panel also uses its own session cookie, but only CompuSigns staff use it and it is not part of the public site.
7. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to know how many people visit the site, which pages they view, and where they came from — for example, a search engine or a direct link. That information helps us understand what works on the site and improve what does not.
Google Analytics collects technical data about your visit — which pages you view, how long, your device and browser type, and an approximate location worked out from your connection — and Google processes it under its own privacy policy, available at policies.google.com/privacy.
We do not use that data to identify you as a person, and we never cross-reference it with the data you give us through the forms.
8. Advertising and Meta Pixel
This site uses the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook and Instagram). Each time you view a page, your browser notifies Meta of that visit, together with technical data such as your IP address, browser type and Meta's cookie. We use it to measure how many people arrive from our ads and to show our ads to people who may be interested.
When you submit a quote or the contact form, the site also tells Meta that a request was sent and of what kind (for example, the type of sign or inquiry). We do not send Meta the contents of your forms — your name, phone, email or message. That notice is only sent if the submission went through.
Meta processes that data under its own data policy, available at facebook.com/privacy/policy. You can control the ads you see from the ad settings of your Facebook or Instagram account, and block tracking cookies in your browser.
9. The photos you upload
If you attach a photo or PDF in the quote builder, it is stored on our server in a folder that is not reachable from the internet, and emailed to the sales team along with your request. We use it only to understand the project and prepare the estimate.
We do not publish those images on the site or on social media without your permission.
10. Security
The site is served encrypted (HTTPS). Uploaded files and the request log are stored outside the server's public directory, so they cannot be downloaded through a browser. Access to the internal panel requires a password and limits failed attempts.
No measure is infallible. If we detected a breach affecting your personal data, we would notify you and inform the relevant authority.
11. Your rights
You may ask us at any time to tell you what data of yours we hold, to correct it if it is wrong, or to delete it. You may also request a copy of what you sent us.
Write to compusignsinc@gmail.com stating what you want and which email or phone you contacted us from, so we can locate your request. We reply within a reasonable time, normally within 30 days.
12. Minors
This site is aimed at businesses and adults looking for signage services. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a minor has sent us their data, write to us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will update the date in the heading. Material changes — for example, starting to use a new analytics or advertising tool, or sharing data with a new provider — will be reflected here before they take effect.
